We say thank you to the people of Wirtgen GmbH for the warm welcome during our General Meeting in November 2009.
The manufacturer of milling machines had invited the VESF to the headquarters in Windhagen, where amongst other machines, the cold milling machines are manufactured. Besides the election of a new board, themes discussed were: new laws for the machine transport, operating cost of cold milling and environmental laws in Europe.
Moreover, the VESF took leave of Dieter Simons, for long years member of the study group and the board, as he had retired recently.
A guided tour lead the participants in a new part of the facotry, where slipform pavers and Surface Miners are built. Another interesting feature was the tour through the new, more or less automatically working and top modern painting plant.
