We say thank you to the people of Roadtec, Inc. in Chattanooga, Tennessee for the warm welcome during our excursion in March 2007.

Roadtec chose the date of our excursion quite clever: All participants had the possibility to visit the "World of Asphalt", the largest fair in American road construction business, in Atlanta. There everybody was welcome at the Roadtec booth.

From Atlanta the trip lead into the famous town of Chattanooga, where Roadtec produces not only road milling machines (planers) but also pavers and recycling machinery. The visitors were particularly impressed by the high vertical range of manufacture and the large range of products.

During the factory tour Roadtec introduced their new milling machine with 1,20 m milling width on crawlers with front loading of the RAP to the visitors. It goes without saying that the factory tour was on of the highlights during the excursion to the US.

Jim Walton, responsible for sales in Europe, showed another worldwide known, Tennessee based company to his guests: Jach Daniel's. The famous whiskey is produced in Lynchburg, close to Chattanooga, where we first had an interesting factory tour and later on had the possibility to taste various types of their produce.

The visit of the VESF was completed with a typical, delicious southern state dinner.
